Default Wheels opinion

I brought out the plasti-dip today to help out with my wheel dilemma. I did just a quick coat to show what it would look like if they were black and here is what I came up with. I am considering getting them powder coated gloss black in this style, what do you guys think?

I voted chrome but that is just my prefence. The real question is what do you like the best?

That is the problem, I have always had chrome on my cars but in this case I am leaning toward black but having a hard time making the final call.

After testing with the plasti-dip I am pretty certain I will go with black but I always like to hear a little feedback before making such a drastic change. Another option is black cup wheels.

In these type threads it usually seems pretty divided anyway so probably wont help me much!

I am not a hater of chrome but just feel the look is dated. Besides, once you go black...well....you know the rest

Chrome wheels are a natural choice on black IMO. Black has a nice gloss and chrome compliments it.
Black wheels just become an indistinguishable element.

Gotta go with the chrome, plain old black just dulls the whole car down.

My car looks EXACTLY like yours but has chrome, not silver painted, wheels. I can't think of anything that would look better on the black car.

Do black cars look dated? They have been around much longer than Chrome wheels.

No vote either way.

Go with what "you" really like, not with the poll winner. (It's been proven that chrome wins these polls 100 times out of 100)

Everyone has different taste and you're no different in that respect...

I see lot's of "gloss" black wheels around here which look Pep Boys cheap & cheesy, i.e., think Japanese boy racer cars.

IMO, the flat black (sampled in your Plasti-Dip experiment) is a much better look.

I'm a chrome guy but really like the new cup wheels in black. I would stick to the chrome.

Finally made the decision to go with black cup wheels with red stripes, like this photo from another forum member. Just looks too slick...

Thanks for the input guys!
