because installing custom tune later eliminates it too

Really? I had one on my former Z06, I also had a couple of other mods, like a "supercharger" on it. I have to be honest, and this might just be me, but......I kind of thought my supercharger mod was better than my skip shift eliminator mod. Again, maybe that's just me, but I am being very honest here.

That's a Physics questions:
If
A is the height you can raise you car off the ground with your floor jack
And
B is the height of your belly when lying on your creeper
C becomes your ability to fit B under A without getting stuck
Personally I'm a
D - I need a lift

great response.
Yes, it's a real pain. I'm thinking of putting in the skip shift eliminator.

I did put on about 10 pounds this winter
I better diet a little before I attempt the install..

What's the preferred source for the eliminator - one that won't have any computer, engine lights, or warranty effects, please?
I hate it, but I, too, have self- trained to drive around it.

I have read the best way is the skip shift eliminator you plug in at the transmission. I purchased mine at GM Partshouse part# 21008

You won't need a lift at all if you use one of the ones that replaces the fuse! I got mine on eBay.

More expensive than the blown fuse, but very easy and effective.

But....I would rather have the skip shift feature than have the government add $1,000 worth of gas guzzler tax. Just about every other supercar has the tax.
Even the ZR1 has $1,300 worth...so I'll be happy to spend a couple of bucks on a resistor to defeat the system.

Does using that one eliminate the light form coming on in the instrument panel, indicating the need to skip to 4th?
Is it installed in the fuse box under the dash above the passenger footwell, or the box under the hood?
I am going to try to find some instructions to read on the web, so may find my own answers later.
thanks
