Default Dash grime stripper?

Is there something that can be used on the dash without ruining it that will strip all the layers of whatever's been used over the years to "clean" thedash? Kinda like what dawn does for the outside so you can start over with the protection......

I have not tried WD40 on my dash but I do use it on all the plastic under the hood. Gives everything a shine and looks new again

WD-40 is fish oil, yes fish oil. Won't hurt anything and will go away if washed with a warm damp cloth a few times. Seriously.........

I've used alcohol to scrub the dash lettering insets before attaching vinyl/plastic letters.

It removed any trace of 'products/dressings/etc.' from the previous owner, in the letters.

I use Aerospace 303. It cleans the entire interior without leaving any shiny, slippery residue behind.

Or just try soap and water first.

This is from the WD-40 website.

"What a Fish story!

Myth: WD-40 contains fish oil.
Fact:
Consumers have told us over the years that they have caught some of the biggest fish ever after protecting their fish hooks and lures with WD-40. We believe this legend came from folks assuming that the product must contain fish oil since it appears to attract fish. Sorry Charlie®, it just ain’t so."

Here is the MSDS from the site.

I didn't even think of the easiest to try first, soap and water..... I am obviously over thinking it a little. I'm gonna do soap and water on a rag then wd-40 if it needs more....

I just ordered some 303 but... I'd use Marvel Mystery Oil over WD-40. I used to clean one of my old motorcycle jackets with it and it's the Bomb on dirty leather.
