Z06, I'm averaging about 21.5 for thousands of miles. It could be better but it's a Z06 and some times I drive fast. It could be worse but I usually drive with the flow of traffic.

That or leave 20 minutes early from home and take the loooooooong way to work or even the looooong way home from work.
Not enough drive time will kill average fuel milage !!

Wow, that seems low. My 2008 gets between 15-20 around town, stop and go driving etc.

I get 12-14 around town. 15.7 total lifetime-to-date. You should be very happy with 18.

If you calculate more mpg than your DIC shows, make sure you reset all your data points after every fill up. My '08 has never gotten less than 18 mpg on a tank in stop and go driving. Average 25+ on highway trips.

[QUOTE=FAUEE;1584104518]This is about what I get in my '09 A6 w/ Z51 (not sure which gears that is). I drive mostly city with a little bit of highway and am averaging 23-24mpg
'09 z51 A6 has the performance axle-2.73 ratio.

OP, your commute sounds just like mine, about 6 miles with a light about every half mile. It seems I get a red at about 3/4 of those lights. If I'm as lights as I can be on the throttle I can squeeze out 12mpg. Driving normally seems to be a little over 11mpg.

I've noticed that if I can get a green at more then half the lights, it will go up to maybe 13mpg. It seems that the car drinks heavily at idle.

My car is a 2006 coupe with an A&A supercharger kit and a custom cam. Supposedly, the centi supercharger has little affect on mileage during this type of driving, but the cam may have some affect.

This thread overlaps another recent C6 thread regarding fuel consumption. To repeat what I posted there, this shows my cumulative average MPG (i.e., total miles driven / total gallons consumed). FYI, most of my "urban" driving is 3-mile trips with 4 stoplights. I didn't think than modern cars had any significant "break in" period, but that's the only reason I can think of for the apparent improvement over the first ~5,000 miles.

My average gas mileage display indicates I'm getting 10 MPG. Is there something wrong with my car?

Or is this normal for my use, i.e. lots of time spent in 1st / 2nd / 3rd gear, ?
When I was a Ron Fellows Performance Driving School in Spring Mountain I reset the Average MPG at the start of every session. Full out Track Driving in a Z06 averaged 7.1 MPG Not bad for track driving.

Don't know if this makes a difference, but my drive to work is less than 4 miles each way to work and back, with about 10 traffic lights. I warm up for 1 minute and then keep the RPMs below 2500 until oil temp is above 130 (which basically occurs when I pull into the lot at work).

Since noticing that the calculated MPG is so low, I've been spending a lot of time in 4 and 5th gear to keep RPMs even lower, but it hasn't helped.
Yes, it makes a huge difference
