I use Napa Platinum PFL 47060 or Wix 57060XP. They are both the same filter, as Wix makes the high end Napa filters. They are comparable to AMSOIL's EaO filters.
NAPA Auto now sells a Platinum model along with the Silver and Gold versions all made by Wix. I just bought 3 on sale for @ $8/piece. Very strong metal sides that you can't push in like some "Coke" can models.

Yep, see my post above yours for the link to Wix's Platinum version and the part number for Napa's Platinum.
Another vote for Wix. Resonably priced and very highly rated. I get mine at O'Reilly's.
I use the WIX drop-in element for the 3.6L CTS engine also from O'Reillys. They keep them behind the counter for some reason. Very few WIX sizes actually on the main floor shelf with the other filters. You have to ask as they are behind the counter.
There really are a lot of good choices out there, and there isn't a single oil filter made out there that is going to damage your engine or shorten it's life by any considerable amount.
"best" is very subjective. Ask 10 people what the best filter is, and you are likely to get 10 different answers. Use a high quality filter, change your oil/filter when recommended, and you and your car will be just fine.
AMSOIL partnered with Donaldson and Wix many years ago. They now have a proprietary AMSOIL Ea Oil Filter line and they carry Wix filters. I use the EA filters on my daily drivers and the Wix on my C5 Z06 at the track.
