recorded cd's
i record on blank cd's for my listening pleasure so i don't have to listen to the radio or the xm radio. after playing them in 013 cd player i start to hear static coming thru the speakers. not right away mind you, but after playing a disc for the fourth or fifth time is when i hear the static. they all start off playing just fine. has anyone else ever noticed this, or am i the only one that listens to the cd player? this is the fourth disc that i've had the problem with.

Try asking the question in the Audio/Electronics forum if you don't get enough helpful responses here.

I doubt that it is the fault of the CDs as they are just digital info, ones and zeroes. Errors in that info do not usually show up as static. I think the static is being generated in the analog part of the player...amp, wiring, connections etc.

I rotate them of course but my six CD carrier in the dash is always full and it plays all the burns my son makes for me and all the (store bought) CDs perfectly. I end up listening to XM channel 70 most of the time though but never commercial radio. Let us know when you figure out the cause.

I had a problem with a my nav unit when it would quit playing certain cd's constantly. I thought it was a bad unit so I replaced it only to find it was the cd's all along and not the nav. Expensive mistake.

I have a 2012 GS and here's what I did over the winter : I copied all my cd's and music onto a flash drive using my laptop. I created files and folders for each. I started with country, rock, doo whop, and classical files. Then each of those has a folder for male vocals, female vocals, and groups. In those I created the singer or group file name and then their album names and then each song in that album. It went fast after I got the hang of it. I just plug the flash drive into the usb port in the console and it all comes up on the nav screen. Then I just touch the folders I want to hear. No more need to carry and change cd's for me.

I stopped CD's long ago....it's like 8 track tapes all over. Flash drives carry so much more music. I just plug in the Flashdrive and listen.

Digital is black or white. Analog is gray.

Flash drive is a memory stick. Just google "flash drive" you can get a 32 gigabyte on ebay for around $20ish or a 64gb one for $35ish. There are cheaper ones but if you have a good bit of music you'll want a bigger one. If you wanna go all out you can get a micro SD card and a USB adapter and you can also use the card in your smartphone.
