It's like people try too hard to make their car look sinister.
Times have sure changed. When I was younger it was all about performance upgrades. And could care less about making the car look fast, sinister, aggressive or anything else. And the few people that went for looks over performance were considered lowly posers.
Look at the COPO cars high performance with a very stock look down to the hubcaps.
Now days it seems like many chose to spend their $$$ on making their cars fast even at the cost of performance. A good example is the body kits. Adding weight to the car without doing performance upgrades to make up for the extra weight. They have traded performance for looks.

Then you got the one like me that do both. I've also added - cam, headers, intake, ported and polish heads and blower, pulley, chiller, and a some other stuff. Dropping about 850-900 to the crank and 750 to the wheels. Believe it or not got more money under the hood than outside

I have to disagree a wee bit, as far as the bodykits I agree but that's imports not the OP, secondly I think the OP is not trading performance for looks but merely matching the looks with the performance...a ZR1 with chrome wheels is just NOT the current trend of high end performance...not saying its wrong, just the minority...now if you wana talk 55 chevy with a blown big block then YES chrome is all good...

Have a nice day.
Wow saw your post was posted while I was writing my last post
...KNEW I WAS RIGHT!
Well I think one of the main problems with the comparison is that the quality of pictures in the before are much better than the after photos. The lighting was perfect in the first few photos and was terrible afterwards. Can't see the wheels that well at all. With that being said, I'm also not a rookie and know what the products you used looked like. I think the look you were trying to pull off was achieved. I think you did an excellent job and that rear diffuser is pretty BA. I like the color, mount and size of the wheels but objectively would have chosen a different spoke pattern.
All opinions aside I'd take that car in a heartbeat. Beautiful machine, my friend.

Love your ZR1. Love the CG. Love your new exhaust. Comp Gray wheels would look better to me, the design of the wheel is more distinct when the tire & wheel are not the same black... IMHO.

Since you asked for members thoughts, I think you should have left it alone. The wheels and that big hunk of plastic added around the exhaust dont fit the car in my opinion. On the other hand you have an awesome machine brother and I wish I had your kind of cash-flow to buy one like you. Very cool.
