Drifting
I hear ya...and your story is almost exact to mine today. Here in SC it was also in the mid 80's and sunny. I popped the top off and took a 101 mile ride on the back roads past cotton fields, tobacco fields and about 50 churches. I even found this old general store with a rusty Sinclair sign and the old 1920's gas pumps that were also rusty. Truly a great ride and view all while listening to 60's on 6 and the NPP exhaust! This is what these cars are all about...DRIVE THEM!

Mid 80's and top off...I love everything about my vette, just owning this great affordable American sports car is beyond words. I don't care that at 8500 miles I am shopping for tires, or that the navigation is sub par or that the GS/ wide body gets less mpg than the standard coupe. I just love to take off the targa top, keep the performance exhaust on, radio cranked up and roll along however I damn well please!!
This forum and the helpful posts are great and I don't even mind those that think there opinion is best and the only one that important......at the end of the day I OWN ONE VERY AWESOME CAR!!

First day of summer. Well warm all year here in Orlando. Drove the convertible to work this morning with the top down. Yes, I knew there was about a 99% chance of rain this afternoon. And the weather man was right, it is pouring now. The cool thing, the other Vette owner in my building also drove his today. No bad days in a Vette.

I'm on week 2 of owning my 2013 Z06 and must say that the past 2 weeks I have been making all kind of excuses up to drive my new baby. My wife thinks I'm crazy. I'm going on a 5 hour trip to the Poconos next week and can't wait to drive her through all the mountains..

Nice...last night, right after washing it our neighbors 17 yr old daughter came over and I gave her a ride around the block (we live out a bit so more like country roads), she was asking how hard it was to drive a stick so I pulled over and switched seats with her and gave her the first lesson in driving a M6 she was beaming ear to ear! She told my my wife it was a once in a lifetime dream come true!

I waited a very long time to get my 2012 GS. Wanted one since I graduated high school. When my wife found out that I really ordered it, she moved out of the bedroom for two nights. She returned and after a while started to like the car, especially in the nice weather when I remove the roof. She has finally admitted that it is somewhat comfortable but also impractical and just a TOY. My reply: that is why I bought it. If you want practical, buy an SUV (and she did). But she still like the plastic TOY.
I see vettes for sale that are 4-5 years old with something like 3-5K miles on them. I have almost 10K on mine and it is about 14 months old. Why buy it if you are not going to drive it? Glad I found this thread.
