I just made a deal on trading in my 2011 Z06 for a new 2013 427 convertable. People will punish me for this statement...To me this is a Z06 convertable. This will probably be my last Corvette purchase because it is everything I want in a Vette.
I will post pics and register on the 427 converable restister when I pick it up in a few days. It is getting 3M shrinkwrapped by the dealer.
I have 2 questions:
1) How many of these did they make?
2) Where should I hang my hat on the forum...Z06 or C6 General?
As a Zo6 owner I banish you to the general section! You have officially defected. You can't have your cake and eat it too! Zo6's are hardtop race cars!
congrats on the new purchase, and welcome to the red headed step children club. its got a steel frame, blah, blah, blah. its got a convertible top, blah, bah, blah. its not a Z. But wait, its got a different drivetrain than a GS, its not a gs. you sir have bought a car with no home, but with a good compilation of parts leftover from C6 production. you belong wherever you feel comfy, and don't worry bout the naysayers, its a great ride unless you are a track rat.
Welcome to the convertible-bodied 427 club. Is it a Z06...technically, no, but is it every bit as much fun to drive...heII yes. Without a doubt it is the Corvette that GM should have produced for the last 5years of the C6 production run. It is really neat to be driving a one-year only USA production automobile that can do what this car can do that still looks like an all-American sportscar.
