Black wheels were part of the CE black themed option. There never were any other wheels such as chrome, just black.

I am sure if you actively search for the CE vette you seek and are patient, you will be succedsful.

Chrome wheels were not an option. If you are seeing "a lot" with chrome wheels, you are not seeing Centennial Editions, as there are not a lot of those cars out there. Only about 2300 were made, total.

There were quite a few GS's made, but finding a 'vert, with an A6, and 4LT, and under 10K miles will need a lot of searching. More likely to find a 3LT.

Seems that they came with both types of wheels. Call them and ask, or check the option codes.

So you're saying all the 2012 Vettes with Carbon Flash paint, matte black stripe, red stitched alcantara interior appointments are not CEs just because they have chromed wheels?? Doesn't work for me.

You could specify the chrome wheels when ordering the Centennial models.

Caddy, did you buy it new? I am just curious, because all sources I have say no other wheels were available. If you bought it new, that would be proof they could be had.

Only 2,201 CE's were made, total. There were 528 Centennial Edition GS Convertibles, but finding with the A6, and 4LT, and under 10K miles will need a lot of searching. More likely to find a 3LT.

No, I am saying that because he said he is seeing, "a lot with chrome wheels". There are not "a lot" of these cars to begin with. What I am saying is that he may not know for absolute certain what he is seeing. All the resources I have checked indicate they only came with black wheels, but I have learned not to blindly believe the sources. I can't recall seeing a "lot" of CE's, even when I was looking for one, let alone a lot with chrome wheels.

Maybe they came with chrome, or other wheels. Or, maybe an owner somewhere along the way added chrome. I would like to know definitively if they did or not. If so, how many came with other than black wheels?

Here's another example of somebody that says that they have factory chrome wheels too

I might be pulling the trigger on a centennial GS convertible... but it doesn't have these wheels. I need to figure out how to get some.

Those are regular chrome GS wheels with the Centennial center caps. They should be very easy to find.

it's funny that, when I bought the car, I was going to get chromes on it. My wife and I both hate(d) black wheels. The day after I brought it home, she said, "You know, I think you should leave the black wheels on the car...they just seem right with that car", and I agreed completely.

More than anything on the car, I have had great comments about the wheels. I think the red stripe and the red calipers really make it work.

Those chromes are beautiful, though, and also perfect on the car.

I've ALWAYS preferred chrome/polished wheels on my vehicles and when buying my Centennial last year I requested a wheel swap from the black to chrome/polished of the salesman. Since then the black has grown on me and have replaced the oem blacks with 19 & 20" blacks. Someday I may get a nice set of polished wheels for the summer and shows, and have the blacks for all season tires and winter driving.

See post 173. I changed my narrative 2 weeks ago. I am now aware that the CE could be had with chrome wheels, although chrome wheels are not part of the CE. Now, I understand.
