I'm trying to prepare for possibilities. 2005 vert automatic. What should I be looking for to see if it is being towed properly or the person doesn't know what he is doing and I should call someone else? Thanks for all replays in advance.
The best way to have the car towed is on a roll back. However, the operator will have to have some boards to bridge the angle between the front of the car and the ramp. They put the boards in front of the front wheels and a few feet up the ramp. The boards change the approach angle so the front splitter doesn't hit the ramp. Don't worry about the air dam.
Another way of towing is to use a regular tow truck that has bars that extend under the car from the rear and clamp both rear wheels. Two bars to each wheel. The operator then lifts the rear wheels off the ground a few inches and tows the car slowly so the front doesn't bounce off the pavement. When my engine blew at the Glen two years ago that is how the car was towed off the track.
Just had mine towed two weeks ago after a guy hit me. First guy said he was going to pull off my bumper cover. I sent him down the road. Next guy was experienced, put the flat bed to the ground, put boards long ways out to from the ramp to the front of the wheels. Hooked a 8 foot chain on both front sides of the a-frames. Then hooked the wrecker cable to the center of the chain. Pulled it right up and it never touched the splitter! And I have a ZR1 splitter on a 12 GS. Without the boards it would have been a different story.

This is how my 427 was towed away after the deer strike. The splitter never touched the ground during the tow.
