Do all 08s have the ls3 engine and a different tranny, or just later ones.?

Yup, what they said. (No ZR1 in '08, though, so just "except Z06".)

All the '08's except Z06 came from the factory with the LS3, but not all have remained that way.

However, none of the '08's were produced with a transmission that had less than 6 speeds.

All 08 and up manual cars get the TR6060, the 05-07 years had the T56.
