I don't know if it changed on the GS but on my 05 with Bose the rear speakers produce a mono signal for fill. You may not get the results you want if its the same on the GS.
When say "tap in" and "add", are you talking about leaving the two rear speakers in place, and adding an additional two speakers, so the rear would have 4 active speakers? That's a pretty bad idea. Adding two additional speakers in parallel (simply connecting the additional speakers off the existing + and - leads) would drop the resistance down to 2 ohms, something that I don't believe the stock amplifier is designed for, and could result in overheating and shutdown of the amp, or potential damage to the amplifier). You could wire it differently (in series) which would prevent damage to the amp, but most likely you'd be dropping the effective power of the amp in half.
If you're talking about disconnecting the two original speakers, and tapping the two new speakers off the existing wires, that would work okay (no damage to the system), but can't comment on the results.
why not call bose directly and ask a tech for better info? the # is 1800-444-bose. he can answer any question you have about the speaker set up. and for all you bose bashers, you can rant to your hearts desire.
