On my 2011 narrow body I would get 26 mpg on the same stretch of interstate that I get 21 mpg on my 2013 Grand Sport. Figures from the DIC and by miles and gallons on fill up. Also after a fill up miles to empty on the DIC went up to 500 on the 2011 but on the 2013 cant get it passed 284.
My '13 GS is doing the same exact thing now. This is the thread I have going on at the moment and my car is in the dealer now for ****** MPG.
YOUR NOT ALONE!
I did the exact same calculations and driving habits and also compared them to the '12 narrow body I had previously
This is the thread; Something gotta be wrong, 18MPG '13GS MN6 AT 65 MPH; READ IT.
I just returned from a 3200 mile trip in my 2013 GS and consistently got between 24 and 25 MPG on the highway doing over 80 for most of the trip. Speed limits were 75 out west. Even in the mountains I stayed around 20MPG and that was over 8000 feet elevation and uneven terrain. Sounds like something is certainly amiss if you can't get close to that. I will be curious to hear the resolution.

Several things working against you. The GS has lower gearing than the base C6(2010-2013). At highway speeds, your GS's engine is running a couple hundred RPM higher. Then you have wider tires that have some additional rolling resistance and the body is not quite as aerodynamic on the GS
t took me a couple of thousand miles on my 09 Z06 for the DIC to give me a high number on the tank range. When new, it also would show under 300 miles, now it shows 500+ after traveling on the highway and then filling the tank up.
Alignment can also affect gas mileage, as well as tire mileage. You might want to have the alignment checked and get the front camber set at -.8 to-.9 degrees and the rear camber set at -.4 to -.5 degrees. Get both the front and rear toe set at zero. Greater tire life will pay for the alignment.
I have a 2011 grand sport and just returned from a 1200 mile trip today, my average MPG was 25.4 with many of the miles driven over 80 mph (the speed limit on most of the roads on my trip were 75 mph so dont start with the why do you drive so fast on public roads). I can say that with my mild to wild switch set to open the flaps my instant MPG increased 1-2 mpg.
My 2006 Z06 got 23.5 mph on a recent 2000 miles Colorado / Arizona / Nevada road trip while doing a lot of two lane passing, hitting higher speeds & several aggressive mountain runs.
Last year, I averaged 27 mpg on a 5000 miles road trip from Southern California to Bowling Green, KY (and back) on highways traveling "way" above the posted speed limits & the a/c always on.

Both trips used 93 octane name brand gas with 10% ethanol.
The trunk loads were basically the same as I had the area for the vert top filled and the trunk space stuffed. The contents compressed when I closed the trunk lid
The coupe trunk was filled to the point of hardly being able to see out the back window.
My opinion is it's more the LS2 vs. the LS3 engines.
I haven't been on a long trip yet. Still under 400 miles and breaking in my '13 GS with varied RPM city driving (as recommended in the manual). So I don't know my freeway MPG yet.
But with the display set to "Instant Fuel Economy" I noticed a 2 to 3 MPG drop with the A/C on (its been very hot here). Thats about what I expected. I'm wondering if anyone else has tested their MPG drop with the A/C on?
Bought a new 2013 GS vert on June 24th. By the first weekend the car had 200 miles on the odometer and my wife and I drove up to San Luis Obispo. It was all freeway with a round trip total of 379 miles. Used 14.4 gallons of gas which works out to 26.3 mpg. Top was up with a/c on the whole time. We are impressed with the ride quality, comfort and low noise level and MPG. Assume it will even get better after break-in.
Same boat on MPG. I have not taken it out on a road trip per say. I get right at 15.7 in town with little to no spirited driving. Thing is though I go the same in a 2010 Camaro SS the difference was the tank is bigger in the SS so more mile before fill up.
My base vert hovers between 29 and 30 on clear interstate. 55 or 70 mph, top up or down, ac on or not all about the same. Better milage than my expensive Toyota Hybid - at least on the interstate.
