Default 2005 C6 Value

I am looking at a silver 2005 C6 with a manual transmission and Z51 package. It has the painted silver roof only. The car currently has 25k miles. The front tires are new within the last 5k miles but the rear tires are still original.

It is a 2 owner car with a clean autocheck except for a "non-collision" vehicle damage listed on the autocheck back in 2007. The current owner is not sure what this could have been but the car appears clean with no obvious damage.

What would be a fair price for this car?

20 grandish for an 05 with 25k miles? Lol.

Hard to say because of the non-collision damage, but most likely that means fender bender/curb/etc. nothing major, hopefully. But if it's clean inside and out, I think mid 20's would be fair. $24-25 would be a good deal.

Correct, no HUD, not sure about heated seats. It is my understanding it is a base car with Z51.

I'm interested to see how this shakes out as the car you're looking at is very similar to mine: 2005 coupe, Machine Silver/Ebony, 1SB, Z51, MZ6, all options except translucent roof and OnStar, 32K miles, immaculate condition. The biggest difference is that mine's not for sale (yet).

With 25k miles, you need to jump on it for 20k. That's a steal. Good Luck

Thanks. I think 24-25k would be fair with a completely clean autocheck, but the non-collision damage is throwing me off a little bit. I offered 22,500 and I was rejected. Maybe I should keep looking?

You have to remember that the 05 has a weaker rear end the following years,is prone to DBS (DEAD BATTERY SYNDROME) look up in FAQ for that, and is the only year with that steering wheel. In 06 they reinforced the rear end, changed the steering wheel and if it were automatic, put in a 6 speed auto, but it's not so doesn't matter. So yes,I would not pay more then 20 grand since you can buy 06's out there for not much more then that.I mean,08's are low 30's,07's very high 20's etc etc...

Yes! but if you care to pay more knock yourself out! lol

I have the twin to your car. Same mileage and all. Only difference is the long list of performance mods done to mine.

Last Fall I couldn't even get $25k for mine, so I pulled it off the market.

My father got his 05 C6 Z51 for 28k. It was loaded though and was in great shape. So for that price, it looks good.

From what I have seen the price seems really fair. If your in the market I wouldn't be kicking it around much longer. One could drive it five years and not lose hardly anything. Not being a C-6 coupe person its not for me. Folding top is my preference.

Yeh. To be honest, that would too. I'd want more information on that collision to make another offer if I were you. If it's something small, I'd go up as far as 23.5, maybe 24. But if you're not in a hurry, keep looking and something will popup.

I have an 05, and I'm aware of it's issues, but don't let that stop you from buying an 05. Every car has it's issues. For a DD, you don't have to worry about the weaker rear end, doesn't mean much. Unless you plan on dropping the clutch at 4k everyday, it's not a big deal. DBS is another issue, but it will show up in the carfax if he brought it in to the dealer because it shows up there. Or if it says "battery inspected" that's another redflag. If it's automatic, I'd prefer A6 as well (06+), but if it's M6, not a big deal again.

I keep forgetting cars in CA are pricier than cars in other states. Because 20 is stupid low for a C6 with under 50k miles here. That wouldn't last 24 hours.

Want my honest opinion? Find what you like, and just buy it. Don't worry about a few grand in price. Not worth it. Just enjoying the car and not stressing about the decision you made is worth that amount to me.

If it has the Z-51 package, 6spd man, w 25k miles? It's probably a 1SB package. I'm figuring very high 20's maybe 27-29k. You're gonna pay more for the LOW mileage on this one you describe. My
1SB, Z-51 6 spd man vert pictured here was $32k & change to
give you some idea as to pricing. Good luck!

I was looking at the prices and was amazed how proud of your cars you guys are...

Then I did a Traderonline search to see car prices.
When I was shopping in January, prices were much, much lower than today.
I am glad I buy cars in winter time. I would have been paying thousands more for my current 2007 car today.

Do your research on what things are going for in your area. This isn't the best place to ask for prices. Too many variables with prices being so different around the country.

Not sure what your budget is but if you're waiting for a C6 with under 25k on it for 20k you're going to be waiting for a long time

And just for your info, verts are app 3k more than coupes (give or take) as with mileage. Florida vettes are more too, so don't let that confuse your buying decision either. Good Luck!!!

It could just be me, but it seems like used C6 prices are going up a bit.

Maybe it is just because of summer.

20k? Wow, I wish I would've bought mine for that price. It all depends what area of the country you are in. I'm up in WI and that would go for probably 28-30. Vettes are not cheap up here especially C5's,6's. You do get what you pay for though.

I sold my 2005 DSOM Z51 ISB, almost new rubber, 30K miles in Nov. through a friend/dealer, and he got me $25K.
