I have Mustang's for over 30 years and I am now quite burned out. I now have a 2013 Mustang GT which is a great car, very fast, put together well, looks great but I am BURNT OUT.
I have recently started thinking about a 2013 Vette, Ive seen base models with a 6speed for as low as $42k, which seems like a great deal.
Ive owned a few Chevy's in the past but always had better luck with Ford's so if I jump ship and buy a Vette what can I expect?
Are they assembled well, do they run good? Just how good of a car would a new Vette be?
Also it would not be my daily driver as my Mustang isnt so any opinions would be greatly appreciated..
The C6 is a very well refined car by now. Just pick the one you like the most and pull the trigger! Personally I like the widebody look and had to have a an automatic so I just bought a Grand Sport coupe. The Z51 is no longer available on the base coupe so in my opinion even if you want a manual transmission you should get the Grand Sport.
With the 2LT package or higher you get everything that you need - happy hunting

The base model 6spd would be about all I could afford, I found a red one in Atlanta for $44k and 2 Silver ones here in Florida for $42k its a killer deal on them.
I think the base coupe would be on par with your GT. A z06 would be an upgrade.
Yea I think the Vette and my GT would run close to the same but Im not real interested if I could outrun a Mustang or not, I just love V8's with alot of horsepower and a base Vette would have as much as my Mustang..
You need to drive one, it is a really different car than you have now. The ride alone over the mustang did it for me. I came from a 03 Cobra which was powerful for sure but a Z06 tripped my trigger. I now have a blown grand sport and love the car. I think this is my 7th vette if that tells you anything and I am not burned out yet...lol. The "base" vette at low 40k range is one of the best values out there in my opinion.
I checked that dealer last night but didnt have one I could afford, can a new Vette still be ordered? Also if I buy one out of state I would have to have it shipped to me here in Naples...

I hate to say it but I am sooo burnt out on this Mustang thing, great cars but ive reached my limit and I agree $42k for a base Vette is a great deal considering what the sticker is on them
you can always fly to the out-state dealer and drive it home...bring a friend !
G-L !
OMG your kidding, when is the new Vette coming? I dont wanna wait around too long and not be able to get a 2013 cause the new Vette will be priced outragous.
C7 production is starting about now, with dealers expecting deliveries commencing late August/early September.
Most forum dealers are selling at MSRP...
you may want to check-out the C7 section...you've got a bit of catching-up to do !

Im wayyy behind the times it seems....lol So the 2013's on dealers lots are all thats left?
Bought my 2013 Grand Sport Coupe as a place holder while the dust settles over the C7's intro. Come 2015 or 2016, I'll be back for a new Vette without all the MSRP + $10k nonsense.
Now that I've had the C6 for a couple weeks, I'm not sure I want to move on to a Stingray. Coming from a Mustang, you'll love the Vette, even in base config. Try it you'll like it.
