Make sure your harness connectors are SECURELY attached!!!
Like these:
I don't remember how many harnesses there are -- it's been years since I did my HUD install. Anyway, just to be sure, I'd disconnect-then-reconnect all of them.
I have a digital multimeter. I guess I should use it to test continuity before and after the tap on both wires.
I did not have my battery disconnected during the install but disconnected it afterward. I didn't think it was necessary with low voltage wires and simple tapping. I am going out there to throw the charger on it now in case it is low on juice.

hmm, usually its good practice when doing electrical to unplug the wiring as you can easily ground out something and destroy the bcm. Do you still have the issues? If so I'd recommend taking it to a dealer.
I am fine now. I left the HUD in there physically and untapped all the wires.
The car runs great without the HUD hooked up. No issues whatsoever.
I buttoned it up and drove to the gas station to pick up beer and gas.
I'll pay someone to complete the job some time as I don't have the desire, patience, or skill to do it it seems.
I had to pull the little lever in the back of the car to get out but I had to do so while pushing against the door. I could have gone out the window because it was open.

You mean the emergency door release lever on the floor in front of the drivers seat right next to the door sill?
