Deck lid release problem SOLVED!!

I recalled a thread on the forum where someone reported a problem he discovered under the passenger floorboard (fuse box area). I pulled my floorboard back and checked the fuse diagram which indicated the fuse for the deck release was at the very bottom of the fuse box within another small box containing four separate fuses. I noticed this box was very very loose and moved easily at my touch. Upon moving the small box about, the deck release button once again became functional!! Wow.....

Next step was a trip to my Chevy Dealer (great people to work with) and presented the problem (My vehicle is still under bumper to bumper warranty). They did a complete electrical diagnostic check on the box under the floorboard and determined the box had a loose connection which apparently was caused by pressure applied to the floorboard on the driver's side. (This is where my wife routinely sits and helps to apply the brakes as she "assists in driving"!! (sic)

AS AN ADDED BONUS...during the electrical diagnostic check conducted by my dealer, they discovered the battery was leaking near the positive terminal post and replaced my battery with a new one (warranty)!!!! Probably would not have discovered that until much later......
Now, I have to figure out how to brace that floorboard to prevent my wife, or anyone else, from applying too much pressure and possibly damaging something else on the fusebox which also contains the Bose amplifier!!

Anyway, I wanted to post this incase anyone else has a weird electrical problem pop up. A check under the floorboard would be a good place to begin your investigation.......and, a good place to check for preventive measures!!!!

Um.. put seat all the way to the rear so she can't reach the floor board?
Put tacks in the carpet and make her ride barefoot?
That's it! I'm all out of ideas!
