If it is one of those big headed buffers (12-13 inches) ---they are best used for wax application and removal. Unfortunately they don't have the power and speed to do any real paint correcting and polishing.
As offered there are several entry level random orbital buffers. All are quite easy to use, wont break the bank, and will help bring your finish back to better than showroom new. Megs, Porter Cable and Griots are great choices. Most move up to the Flex 3401 or Rupes within a year or two. Let us know if we can help !

100% Agree with the above! You really can't go wrong with a DA polisher for ease of use and learning how to properly correct paint. I had the PC7424 and finally wore it after 7 years. I have a Griots now and am looking at the Rupes.
