I've searched and found many threads on rough cold starts...my problem is the opposite, starts great cold but after driving for 20 or so minutes, when I shut it off and go in a store or have a meal it wants to crank for a few extra seconds before starting. No lights or codes, started about 2 weeks ago. When I shut it off warm and wait a couple of seconds it'll fire right up. If I shut it off warm and wait 5-10 minutes it wants to crank a little longer before it starts. Hasn't not started yet but I'm afraid that's coming? Not sure how old the battery is...it's an AC Delco but there aren't any dates on it. Car is a 2007 Vert, automatic 70k miles and is driven a couple of times per week usually 15 to 20 minute trips (weekend toy).
Come to think of it...my C5 was displaying some of the same symptoms prior to the starter being replaced. I'm assuming the exhaust will be in the way again.
I think this is basically the procedure: The book says 1.2 hours total.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
2. Remove the right catalytic converter.
3. Remove the positive battery cable nut from starter.
4. Remove the positive battery cable terminal and the engine harness leads from the solenoid.
5. Remove the S terminal nut.
6. Remove the purple wire lead and washer from the solenoid.
7. Support the starter motor.
8. Remove the starter motor bolts.
9. Remove the starter motor.
