Searched all over and couldn't find a solution. Heres the deal, go out run an errand yesterday park the car and return to go back home and cant open either door so jump in (2010 GS Vert) and not getting the green light on start button either. Tried glove box receptacle and no joy there either. Now the day before i had replaced my fob battery as well as my car battery because of same scenario. So I call GM tell them to send flat bed and while on the phone the trunk magically opens i get the green light and start it up and on my way.
Today tried to get in car again and same thing, nothing! Go back inside the house and about ten minutes later i hear the horn beep go in garage and trunk open (all from previous inputs I"m assuming) and I am once again able to open the door and start the car. Naturally the car just went out of warranty so that kinda sucks. Anyone have anything similar or suggestions on what could be the problem? Thanks

Was the battery you put in the fob textured on one side? I replaced the batteries in the fobs when I first got my car and it was hit or miss on what would happen. Then I read a post here about textured batteries so I went out an grabbed some smooth sided batteries and it hasn't been a problem since.
Thanks for all the suggestion guys, just went out and disconnected the car battery and cleaned up the terminals which were a little suspect although i watched the kid at autozone clean them when he replaced the battery. All fob functions seem to be working now so will just wait until tomorrow and check again and hope for the best.

If they were cleaned and green again, there might be some residue inside of the wire cover OR a gas leak from the battery. I had the battery gas leak from around my negative battery post. I couldn't keep the damn thing clean for more than a month and it was green again. I finally replaced the battery to stop the issue.
I'm wondering if maybe the trunk button by the rear plate is stuck in the depressed position...road dirt can cause this and mess up the electronics...
Also, the green circle on the start button is just a trim light...it has no significance in the operation of the system. If I climb over the door and get into my Vert, the green circle will not be on, but the car will start when the button is pushed. Same thing if you just get into the car normally then end up sitting there for a while...like talking on the phone. All the interior lights will go off, including the green circle, but the car will start when the button is pushed.
Update.... before i left for work this morning i tried the fob and everything as working as advertised, did not drive it this morning but got back from work and it still seems to be working as designed. And yes the terminal ends did have some buildup on them so that must have been the culprit. Still do not know why #2 fob doesnt work though and scared to do the program drill and lose both of them, so I"ll just stick with the good one for now. Thanks all again.

I'm not hearing anything from you that would indicate a need to re-program the fob. Programming doesn't get lost.
What i meant is that when i bought the car it came with both fobs but the second fob never did work, thought it was just the battery in the fob but replaced it and still did not work so have just been using the #1 fob. If i understand it correctly I should be able to do the short program deal on that fob with it in the glove box slot? And what is the risk that i loose the programs on both fobs?

Short program will only add FOBs, not do a clean start over. Try the short program with the 2nd FOB. If it programs and functions (It might be FOB #3) Then you can do the long program and make them 1 & 2.
If, during the short program, it says it already recognizes the FOB, then we're back to a FOB battery or maybe a bad FOB, period. As long as you don't do the long program, your #1 will not be affected.
