06 coupe hatch latch problems
I recently acquired an 05 with only 2800 miles. great condition. however I have opened the hatch about a dozen times and no problem noted. then last week I opened the hatch and the rubber collar around the interior latch housing was mangled. and the hatch is not operating smoothly. will not close down without me pushing hard. no solenoid locking or pull down as before. it appears to me the hatch portion of the lock is misaligned. can it be realigned and does anyone know how to do it properly? thanks for any help with this one.

Read down to the bottom of this thread, it may help you out some. They talk about the latch mechanism several times, even though the original poster had a different issue than yours.
