I am having a bit of a conundrum deciding how to upgrade my sound system for my 2009 convertible, with factory Navigation. I want, better sound, iPhone 5 compatibility, navigation, more flexibility in a system, and I want a backup camera. I’ve done a ton of reading and still not sure. I’d like the opinions of those who have done, or are considering some upgrades for the benefits and pitfalls of each. Here are my choices as I have narrowed it down to:
1) LockPick 360 + Nav DVD upgrade + backup camera.
2) Kenwood DNN990HD + backup camera.
3) Pioneer AVIC-Z150BH + backup camera.
4) Pioneer AppRadio 3 + backup camera.
I am open to suggestions of other systems, but these are the ones I have checked into. Price is a consideration, as I am not an audiophile who believes money is no object for car audio.
Thanks for your opinions.
Option 3 installed on mine and it was the best mod I ever purchased. No need for annual DVD update disks. The navigation GPS automatically updates by satellite. Best thing ever. I would add that upgrading the speakers and sound proofing would really take the sound system to another level as well.
Look at the ISIMPLE system with the isbt21. I have a 2010 nav unit and it interfaces great with iPhone 5, XM, and blue tooth. Does not have blue tooth tho. All else is great!

OK no more alcohol, does not have back up camera, blue tooth is great!
While I have been a Kenwood fan, I would suggest a call to Dennis @ Double D as the others have said. While a new head unit may provide upgraded features, to get truly upgraded sound will probably require speakers and Amps work/replacement. Options are limited with a Vert You may have to give up storage space.
