I pull up to a fast food window, & the girl states, "is that a corvette". She wants to know if she can take pics. I said yes. Before I know it 9 people come outside to take pics with their phones. All saying that's the best looking corvette they ever saw. Great compliment, but I have seen pics of fellow forum members cars, & while I believe my vette looks good, I'm sure it's not the best looking one out there. But hey, another win for the C6, especially with a Camaro behind me (which no one had any interest in).
That's cool!!! ,taking the Vette through the drive thru is uncool.
I take mine to drive-throughs pretty often. What part of vette-culture do you think I'm missing?
It can be a bit of a reach up at the pay window, but like the OP found, it does generate some compliments form time to time. Never had a photo-shoot break out, however.
We all know the Vette is a pretty good looking car but 9 people taking pictures of it. I know around here in upstate NY they are pretty common so that will never happen.
Maybe it was the 1st Vette they ever saw in the drive thru line.
I went through the drive thru a few weeks back and it was taking them forever. I got up to the first pay window and was a bit frustrated and the guy was like "how's it going?" and I said that it was going well but would be going a lot better if I wasn't stuck in the line. I wasn't really bitching, but was definitely irritated (had been about 10+ minutes at this point). Anyway... the kid, probably 17, put it in perspective pretty quick. He said "how can you not enjoy sitting in this beautiful car? I'd sit in that all day if I could.".
I did the same thing this morning. Stopped at the Mc D to get a beverage and the young man at the widow said "That car is awesome, and your emblem is sick!" I have the emblems painted so they do attract some attention.
<snip> ...taking the Vette through the drive thru is uncool.
Why?
I'm in a university town in Texas new pickup trucks get more attention than my C6. Now, the Ferrari, that's another story... either one, though, is just a car...
Last night was casually driving down the long main drag in our modest town of 27K people. Mazda SUV waves at me. Red C4 comes up on my left, and then follows behind...come up on a white C5 vert, so all three of us are basically cruising together down the street.
My destination was the DQ and I pull in and grab a cone. Sitting in my car eating in the parking lot, an SUV pulls up to the drive-thru window, orders then pulls a fast 180, lucky no cars behind him, and pulls up next to me and jumps out and we start chatting.
