I have driven up and down the east coast and always find it special that my fellow Corvette drivers give me the Corvette salute as I do to them. This past week-end I drove to the Detroit metropolitan area and while there felt completely baffled that not one of the four or five Vettes I passed returned the Corvette wave. Several of them looked at me as if I were crazy. Is this a trait of Michigan Vette owners-- not their tradition? Let me mention that while on the way back on Sunday I saw half a dozen Vettes going west in PA and Ohio, likely from Carlyle, and was pleased that many of them waved to me from across the median. V
I'm Canadian and I have been Corvette waving since the very first day I got my 06 Vette, I waved to a fellow yellow C6, even though I didn't actually know about the wave at that point, it was a natural instinct.
I'd say the wave is pretty much alive and well, though you will get some drivers that look at you strange when you wave to them. My engines were both built in St Catherines CANADA, so the Vette is North America's Sportscar!

Really, what a bummer, driving your Vette and no one waves back to you. Man that has got to ruin your day and should be a crime. Hard to believe but I guess people really do care based on the number of threads on wave counts each week.
Tradition to some, silly to others, unknown to many...
