Default Best Solution to Cleaning Black Wheels

What is the best cleaning solution out there to take care of this brake dust that you get on these new black wheels? It's getting to the point where it seems like it's just too much maintenance. Any input would be greatly appreciated....thanks!

Swap to ceramic pads. Than use detail spray to clean the wheels. I do the wheels last. Wipe it down lightly with the dirty mf rag and dry with a new dry mf rag.

Then the towels get washed and go inside the house for cleaning duty, never to be used on my car again.

I wipe down my whole car and the chrome wheels every single time I drive it. To me that is not "too much maintenance" the cleaner you keep your car, the easier it is to keep clean. I keep a duffel bag in the back filled with microfiber towels, detail spray, glass cleaner and anything else I need when on the road.

I agree about the ceramic pads. I switched mine at 1000 miles, it reduced the dusting by about 80%.

I use a dry microfiber on the wheels after each drive. Takes about 30 seconds per wheel.

I have use the California wheel duster on Painted, polished and now chrome Vette wheels. I can imagine black would be the worst. I agree with the ceramic pad swap out.

As you can see by my Sig, I also have the same problem.

I spray on Mother's Wheel Cleaning foam, let it sit for about 20 seconds, and then wipe with a soft lambs wool duster. Then, just rinse thoroughly with the hose.

Clean as a whistle every time. Both products can be purchased at Wally World. The lambs wool duster is good for about 12 wheels. After that, I toss it and use a new one. They're only $3.99 on sale, so I buy 3 or 4 at a time. Does not damage the black paint finish.

.
Detailer, Griot's spray wax and even Pledge will do the trick. I prefer the spray wax; works great.

I use a California Duster and hit the outside and inside of each wheel, then use a spray detailer to finish the outside of the wheel. If the inside is particularly dirty and I'm at a car show I use a multi-purpose spray cleaner and microfiber on the inside then do the spray detailer on the outside.

Soap and water every time I was the car. Then I'll throw a little wax on them which helps.I'm not that **** to where a little break dust bothers me anymore. When it gets dirty,I clean it.done.

I wax the wheels (when clean) and wipe them down with a dry rag when they get dusty.

Same here! I use a micro fiber cloth (dry) after a long drive and it really takes little time and effort.

I once saw a seasoned car show veteran wipe down his wheels with a micro-fiber towel. Difference was he was wearing those cheap brown jersey work gloves so as not to get his hands full of brake dust and contaminate other parts of his already clean show car…

Ceramic pads are a must (unless you track your car).

Good Luck!

Normal car wash soap and water worked well when I had black wheels.

Look into ceramic pads like Hawks.

I use REJEX on my black wheels. I really have no issues with dirty looking wheels anymore.
