window wipers
My 2008 has a deflector attached to driver side wiper , please forgive my ignorance but if I'm going to change blades how do I take off wind deflector or do you purchase certain kind with it on . Please note the forum members have been super on spreading their knowledge to me , and I thank you

One has to ask ... if the deflector is actually functional and needed, why is it only on the driver's side and not the passenger's. The driver looks through that side too.
I guess the answer is to either buy the blades at the dealer (probably for a very high price), or buy just the rubber inserts (refills).
On my C5, I had no deflector and bought RainX Latitudes and they were great. Both Bosch and Michelin make similar blades now. And they're better in snow and freezing rain since they have no visible springs to freeze and stick (it's a single internal spring along the entire length). And they last longer. So when I have to replace my wiper blades, I'll use those.

Don't remember exactly (I'll get the receipt out tomorrow and look ) but they were about 20 something. They weren't much more then what I was looking at in the parts store. The OEM are a weird length and I didn't want to cut some to make them fit.
