Alignment Costs
I am about to put new tires on my '07.and was wondering what the average cost for an alignment runs. I have the tire cost, but I would like to see what others are paying before I go in for the tires.

One year ago, I got the NTB 3 year plan for $169. Figured I'd be getting a C7 by then ... but not so sure now, having seen it. I don't think they have a lifetime one.

I paid $80 cash for 4 wheel alignment on my 2013 back in Feb 2013, 8,000 miles later the tires look brand new, Dick Stark , i.e.-Total Alignment, 170 U.S. 1, Holly Hill, Fl. He is known for solving problems on problem alignments, been around here for over 25 years.

In my neck of the woods, all of the Firestone stores (3 counties) are prohibited from doing any alignments on Corvettes. One of the Firestone stores tried to do an alignment and wound up doing about $6K of body damage trying to get the car on the rack...the wooden boards slipped out from under the tires.
With the stealerships, one dealer (the one who stated to me that a Corvette is a car and any Tech can work on it) charges $89.95, unless you have a Corvette, then it's $129.95 BECAUSE IT'S A CORVETTE....go figure; another dealer charges $89.95 for a Corvette, same as an Aveno or any other Chevrolet.

Had a four wheel alignment done about two weeks ago prior to a 600 mile round trip to Vegas. Was no problem watching the entire job. They let me drive the car on and off the flush mounted ground rack, then elevated it to working height. State of the art equipment with a print out before and after the job. Everything was "in the green" as the computer called out for that specific model at completion of work. When the steering wheel position was set, then the tech ( 20 years exp ) had me get in and see if it was to my satisfaction. Top notch independent shop in town for $95.00. Car tracked straight as an arrow for the trip.

Is there any name or kind of machine to avoid in the lifting process?

Pfadt gives you a list of alignments that are very good for the corvette...everything from pure street to racing with slicks. Most got for the top one on the list which is pure street. Very very conservative settings which is easy on the tires.
