sort off. it is easier on a 6. take the pressure of the spring with a bottle jack and turn the adjusting bolt, you may need to let it soak in pb blast, wd40 overnight. then drive around until the spring settles, it could take 50-100 miles.
I have an '07 that I lowered with the stock bolts all the way. I did not cut the bushing. I have had it like this now for over 6 months and I have not had it aligned and I see no wear on the tires. As for scraping, I don't seem to have much of and issue except with the stock front air dam, but it scraped before it was lowered. Not as much, but it did scrap, mostly when going in and out of my driveway and leaving parking lots if not on an angle.
Everybody says this and they are probally right but I did my 02 z06 and it did not hurt the tires
Lowering a C6 on stock bolts will dial in about 1/4 inch toe out from current settings and about another degree of negative camber.
If the excess camber doesn't get you the toe out certainly will.
And I have not noticed the splitter being that much more of a problem. I am lowered all the way on stock bolts but do have 285/345 tires which gives me back about 1/2 of that lowering with extra tire diameter.
My C4 is a real problem with coilovers but I do keep a couple of extra splitters in the garage for it.
On a separate note, how would you deal with the underskirt of the standard C6? It already rubs speed bumps quite a lot at standard height as it goes quite a lot lower than the floor... so if you drop the car by an inch, would it be wise to "trim" it a bit?

Let it scrape...it takes abuse pretty well, because it's made to do so. Mine is less than an inch from the ground and hits everything. Still holding up.
If you lower wait a good 100 miles or so before you have an alignment. Let the car settle and dial in the height you are looking for. 100 miles wont kill your tires.
I have asked the forum vendors of the front air dam for both my C4 and my C6 if it would be possible for them to offer a part that is 1 inch less deep than stock. Their answer was no.
One did recommend that it likely could be cut with a band saw. The parts for my C4 are $50 and for the C6 are $90, so buying a set and having them cut would not be too expensive.
You would lose that little 90 degree lip that does give the part a lot of stability however which is why having them manufactured a bit shorter is the best move.
