My steering wheel has buttons that control the radio on it. When I am driving the car hard I end up pushing the button that turns on a CD. Did a model of Corvette come without these annoying buttons? I want to buy a cover that will "delete" these buttons but I'm having a hard time finding this part online. Does it exist? Any help would be great. Thank you!
I suppose I should have mentioned that I'm not looking for comments critiquing my driving style.
^ Terrible picture but I was able to find a good example online. This is how I hold the wheel. So I'm sure you could see how a guy with bigger hands would have this issue.

my 2006 3LT with Bose NAV system does not have the steering wheel buttons either.
The steering wheel radio controls were introduced in 2007 on the 3LT models only. In 2008, the 3LT had the controls, and in 2009 and newer, all 1,2.3.4LT models had the controls.
If it were me, I'd just detach the air bag module from the steering wheel to expose the underside of the buttons, and unplug them.
Then just re-install the air bag module.
I have the instructions on how to remove the airbag module safely, if you want to give it a go. It's fairly simple to do.
That's a really good idea. Post that link when you get a moment.
Interesting though my car is a 2lz 2007 and it has the buttons. Was it different with the z06?
Yes, the 2LZ (Z06 package) is similar to a base car 3LT package
This PDF will give you instructions on removing the airbag module safely.
The instructions for removing the airbag assembly start at the bottom of page 2.

Yes. I have the same problem except it changes the radio station I'm listening too. Of course its usually right in the middle of a good song. I'm not sure if yours is manual or the paddle shift. But I can see where it could happen with either. The buttons seem awkward to use also. Its like they were placed as an afterthought.

I agree. If you're holding the wheel correctly, when at the road course or driving hard or whatever, your hands are at 9 and 3, thumbs wrapped around the wheel. Doing this puts my palm directly over the CD selector button. It's a poor placement at best.

The plastic piece that holds the buttons is probably the least expensive piece of the steering wheel...get in touch with Gene Culley...he will know. You can unplug the button module, remove it and replace the plastic piece. Save the old parts because any subsequent buyer of your car will want those buttons to be there.
I decided not to buy a new part to "delete" the buttons. I just pulled the piece off the wheel and separated the connector to the buttons. Problem solved.
As noted above, you do need to pull the airbag to access the #20 torx bolt holding the piece on to the wheel. After that is removed it comes right out.

Awesome...glad you got it done without having to remove the airbag module. Mine doesn't have the buttons, so I didn't know how they were attached.
