Default 2005 traction control and engine light

The engine light and traction control light both are on and the car won't go out of first gear. Like it's in limp mode. Any ideas on what the problem is?

Could be lots of things, not much to go on. How old is the battery? A bad battery can cause all kinds of weird problems.

Default leaks

Vacuum leaks or kinked vacuum hoses can cause the engine light issue. Took a sharp tech at a dealer to notice a bent hose under the plenum cover. Not sure this has any impact on the trans issue.

How old is it? How do you know it's okay? There's only one way to test a battery and that's with a load tester. Many auto parts stores will do it for you if you don't have one. As mentioned above a low or weak battery causes many problem's like this.
