Default 2013 Nav disc?

Anyone bought one of these and found it to navigate better than the 2012 disc? Something is just not right about having to attend a seminar to get the damn thing to work as well as my Garmin.

There's another Thread (last week). They are 40 bucks off right now. I went ahead and bit the bullet last Sunday and mine arrived on Friday. (I just don't trust some fleabay discs.) I loaded mine yesterday but I was running the 'o5 disc so there's a huge difference in the data but the system still operates the same. I doubt there's much difference between 2012 and 2013.

I like "Scout" better on my Android but the Nav system still comes in handy. Call someone and do your best to convince them they Owe you the newest version (since you have a 2012).

A new DVD will not improve the system navigation any better than it is now. If you are having operating issues with it now, that won't improve unless you spend more time learning the ins and outs.
I only use the OEM Nav when I'm travelling in the vette. It was a slow learning curve, but it is quite powerful once all the functions are understood and used. In fact, I'm still learning new stuff after 4 years.
I will agree that the Garmin is much easier to navigate, and much better graphics.
I have a Garmin, but I prefer the OEM Nav in the vette. The HUD integration is awesome.

There is not much difference in the updates after 2010.

The new disc will have updated POI info, and some newer roads; but it will function exactly the same as the earlier versions and have identical graphics.

We have two different "other company" factory navs, two Garmins, and four cellphone navs. All of them work reasonably well, none are perfect; they just have different strengths and weaknesses. We've used the C6 factory nav for over 100k miles, covering most of the U.S., and I actually prefer it.

talon 90 has an excellent tutorial about how to use the factory nav, because it is not intuitive.
Just gotta do some study and practice. Unfortunately.

EDIT:
LV2TOUR types faster than me.

The 2014 discs should be available pretty soon, hence the discount on the 2013 version:

I ordered my 2013 disc in December of 2012 and it was shipped on Jan 4, 2013. Sometimes they are available for purchase as early as October.

For the past 6 years, we have bought the new disc each year as soon as it became available; we drive our C6 all over the U.S and want the best available maps. For POI's, we usually use the Iphones and so updated POI information is not so important to us. But sometimes the Iphones are glaringly wrong, so I still appreciate the nav POI's.

Since the pace of new road building has slowed considerably, I may start getting a new disc only every other year.

Good advice there Jimbo!
