Default Center Console Covers

Any "pro -or - con" to replacement center console covers on a 2013 C6?
Specifically "Vette Rest" by Zip ? Any other recommendations (for comfort, coolness & durability ... on a convertible).
Thanks

I bought one from Mid America which duplicates the seat leather on our 2009; slips over the original console lid and is held in place by the original screws. It had some slight extra padding, I added some more from a thin yoga mat.

60k miles and we still like it.

I got mine from leatherseats.com and did mine as a DIY.

It wasn't all that hard to do, the only con I can say is that a little extra material would make it easier to wrap it around the edges when you add in some extra padding. I'm going to switch mine out for a different one at some point, and when I do that I'm definitely going to have them add 1/4" to the top and bottom to make for easier wrapping.

The pros are numbers. You don't think it'd be more comfortable for your arm to be gnawed off than to sit on the armrest. The material feels better (I had mine done in a high quality leather they call "Ecstasy", it's MUCH higher quality than the OEM seat leather). Because of the cover I used and the padding I used, it doesn't sit up high like some of the other ones, it's very slim and still very padded.

The only con is that they didn't come like this from the factory, and that once the center armrest is done you will start to realize how uncomfortable to the door armrests are.

Plus they look good. I got the finish line console cover from Midamerica, and like it better then the crossed flags. Get a lot of nice compliments on it, and it is very comfortable on long or even short trips,as are the padded armrest pads...

Had our console cover installed at this years funfest. Went with the Grand Sport design. Had the standard red striipes replaced with orange to bring more of the IOM into the interior.

It's the door armrests which kill my elbow. Last year I purchased expensive leather pads from a luxury supplier and the foam (thin to begin with) broke down within 6 months. After researching the other aftermarket offerings, which are also poor, I might be left with taking the pads to an upholsterer to add proper memory foam.

Installed a after market console lid from our CF Vendor GM Parts Direct. Good price and quick shipping, good quality. Perfect fit and finish.

The OEM seemed hard and did not feel too great on long trips. After nearly a year, it still looks good. I like the aftermarket lid better because it has about 1/4 inch padding, which makes all the difference.

Here is a pic of the OEM and New Lid so you can see the difference.

I think I'm going to go down this route to begin with. The yoga mat worked great and should hold up well, so if I can get an upholstery shop around me to make the patterns and stuff some foam in there I'll be happy.

Honestly, it shouldn't be very hard, it's a pretty simple pattern, and a single stitched seam.

Btw, that padding I used is 1/4 inch memory foam found in the kitchen floor mats. It's stiff enough to give you that oem feel and extremely comfortable. I think I should do a DIY

I like both the DIY posts (yes, do a separate how-to thread, ValleyB). Thanks for the ideas! I also like my DSV lid but note that it is a bit high--not much, but enough to notice. Don't know if less foam would still be comfortable because mine is.

This one's mine, leatherseats.com in Ecstasy Black leather. Could have gotten contrast stitching, but didn't. They'll do Alcantara as well.

It's settled out a bit since the crappy picture was taken.
