I have been searching the internet for hours now and I can't seem to find a place to purchase a Corvette Assembly Manual and download it immediately. All I can find is places that ship either paper manuals or CDs. Does anyone know of a website that offers an immediate download of assembly manuals? As I stated, I am willing to pay for this service. Thanks.
Is the Assembly Manual still published for the Corvette, and available to the public?
Old timers talk about having/using them, but everyone I know today gets by with the Service Manual.
And Corvette Forum.
You may be right. I probably should have posted this in the C3 section because that's what I really need it for. I can find both online if I wanted them shipped in the mail. I just assumed that assembly manuals would be used by all but there shouldn't be to many forum members restoring C6's. I went ahead and posted this question in that forum.
I think those would be the GM Service Manuals for the car, mine just say GM but I've been told that Helms actually prints the paper edition for GM like I have.
Actually I was asking about the assembly manual because it shows a breakdown of the assembly process. For example, how many screws hold a component in and where they are located as well as their part numbers should you find you need to replace something. Because they were inexpensive I went ahead and ordered one online as well as a shop, service and restoration manual. I want to have as many references around as I can when I restore my 78 Pace Car.
I'd be happy to buy one for our 2009 coupe, but I don't think the Assembly Manual is available for the C6, only the Service manual that we already have.
Anyone know different?

The service manual contains all the information needed to sevice the car. It does include part numbers for many but not all of the parts. It includes disassembly and reassembly directions as well as theory of operation for most systems. I'm thinking there is little more you would need to restore the car so I'm thinking there is little practical difference between today's service manual set and the old assembly manuals.
The biggest gotcha would be part numbers for some components but GM has a habit of discontinuing parts so even having the number wouldn't help if the OEM part is no longer available. I've never had an issue with older Corvettes and the service manual. The manual diagnoses the issue and gets you to the offending part. You then go to the Chevy parts department and find the part is no longer available. Then you improvise.
We offer factory service manuals as they become available. This is several pounds of literature for each model year.
