Default black dots on windshield

Anyone have an idea on how to remove the black dots from the windshield? They break the suction of my radar detector and it keeps falling off. I tried a razor scraper, but with no success.

I thought they are molded into the glass?

I can feel them with my finger. I thought they were on top of the class.

They're there for a reason. Not sure if they can be removed.Put your detector a little lower, like under them.

Default you need more SPIT

you can't remove them, you can sand them like they do when the rear glass is tinted.
I put 2 drops of RTV on my radar bracket and glued it up there out of the way.

If you are not using your OnStar, you can also remove the OnStar box from the windshield and mount the detector in that area. Everything will continue to work (well, on our 2009) except that OnStar can no longer connect to the mothership, so effectively it's dead.

Take a small piece of window tint, just bigger than your radar mound (in case you need to make position adjustments) and apply it to the spot you want to mount your RD. Let it sit in the sun all day and you'll be good to go.

The ONLY reason the "dots" are there are to reduce the solar load on the interior.

Agree with the blend mount people. I'd leave the dots alone. God put them there for a reason when He made the C6. :-)

I used the BlendMount for about a week. For my taste it sticks down a little too far from the mirror. I'd much rather have things as close to the roof line as possible.

My next "experiment" will be the visor mount which looks like it gets it REAL close to the roof line.
