I have had enough of the Goodyear Runcraps. I went to Discount tire today and got a price for four new Mitchilen non runflat super sports $1800 for four tires out the door including road hazard. Is this a good price or can I do better? Also any suggestions on other tires would be great I only got 12K miles out of the goodyears on my 2011 GS.
Don't know if these are on your list but I bought 4 Michelin A/S ZP (runflats) from Costco installed for $1,349 OTD. They don't have them in stock but arrived three days later.

Good idea I have a costco membership and will check with them. My only concern is the quality of the instillation at costco, how was your instillation experence?

AND do they stand behind their Road Hazard as strongly as Discount does theirs? That is a major reason why I have done business with them for years and years.
I have had on Hankooks for over two years now. To me, a fantastic tire and at around $800 all in and out the door at Discount Tire, that is hard to beat. For sure, Michelin has the panache and the supposed premium tire hype, but do you need that or would you rather save enough to buy a second set of Hankooks vs. the ability to brag that you run Michelin's!? I tell you this, your Hankooks will last at least as long as the much higher priced super hype tire if not a lot longer. I only do local driving and freeways, no high speed runs and these tires are a perfect fit for my use.
Hankook must be doing something right because they just committed to building a huge plant in the Carolinas or somewhere down east.
I finally got rid of my original Good Year Run Craps. I just installed Continental Extreme Contacts. I could not be happier they were $770. delivered to my door. I took 2 tires at a time to Firestone had them mounted and balanced for $25.00 a tire. I purchased a air pump and plug kit. I must say these tires are quiet handle well and the ride is so much better. I have a 2005 A4 which is Cow Boosted and Engine and trans tuned. I really had a hard time with the Run Craps, they were hard to control and stiff. I am really happy with my purchase.
Rt2SJB, I think you need to shop around a little. I to have a GS and I have found Michelin non run flats around $1400. I also will have to buy tires soon myself.
I have only looked at Discount Tire, I thought they would be the least expensive, they usually are. The $1800 price inclued $50 road hazard for each tire, I wish I could find them for $1400.
If you find them for a lower price, take the deal to a Discount Tire and they will usually match it. Oddly enough, bought my last set (Firestone RF) through my dealer and they matched Tire Rack and Discount. Shop around - it pays!
