it all depends what you want the car for. if you drive the car everyday IMHO - and ive had supercharged vehicles - you will get more satisfaction out of a cammed engine than of a supercharged..reason? you dont got WOT in a daily driver but instead redlight to redlight in the city...and hearing a cammed car at a redlight will bring smiles to your face...believe me..not to mention you prolly add about 60hp to the engine..when tuned right....this is what ppl hear at redlights with mine..
As I said in the first post, I am more speaking of turbocharging, and in my case TT. 2 turbos, 2 waste gates, 2 BOV's, multiple junctions in intake piping, multiple coolant and oil lines, etc, etc. It certainly adds more failure points.
Supercharging has its potential for issues as well. And fwiw lots of FI builds will at minimum still do valve springs, maybe a cam, etc.
The point about opening the motor is a good one, as I too believe there is something to be said for an engine that has never been opened, but for my situation it won't make a difference as I will be doing a built engine regardless.
It is all give and take. I have built enough cars to know this. However admittedly my experience with FI'd V8's is pretty limited.
Turbos are a different animal for sure and kits for these cars can be quite expensive. Rear mounts are popular but I've never been a fan due to all tubing required and additional weight. For the most part I am yet to see a real advantage of turbos in these cars over a good centrifugal set up. Sure they are more efficient, make more torque and such but at the end of the day it comes down to ET and Traps. You look at the cars running ECS or A&A kits, and the power they make for what it costs vs other systems and there is no comparison.
It also depends on your power goals, I am making 600 at the tire with no cam or Meth, never been in the motor and am running 3.8 pulley (low boost -8lbs). Lots of room for expansion if I get bored. 20K miles on this set up with not so much as a CEL which why I have been so hesitant to touch it. Cam/Meth/Pulley down the line

Never had turbos on a vette. (I have a centrifugal supercharger on my vette.) I have had turbos on other cars and loved them.
I think you can help me with my questions!!For the same price which one put out more power and its more reliable I have hard time to choose between them I want know for 650 hp which one is the better choice considering price, life time? Thank you
