One year after purchasing my 2012 ZR1, I have accumulated 17,432 miles on the car. It has been by far my favorite car I've owned. While I don't abuse the car, I do drive it aggressively when I can. Over the year, I have had no issues. I have driven countless miles in the rain. It has travelled its top speed, been through 29 states and I've even driven it on some dirt roads! The car still hugely impresses me with its acceleration and handling abilities. Having the opportunity to attend Ron Fellows driving school further solidified my amazement in Corvette technology. BTW, I had as much fun in the GS and Z06 models - All great cars.
I will need to replace my rear tires for the first time this winter; fronts are still plenty good. My only beef with the car is it's antiquated navigation and entertainment system. The MyLink in my Sonic is worlds better than the system in the ZR1 IMO. At the right time of day, I get a heck of a glare off the center counsel. It's a little tough seeing the miles pile on and I know that having higher mileage on the car will make it very difficult to sell if I ever decided to. I think all C6 Corvettes are a gems of our time and something that can be driven well into the C7 production time.
This forum has helped me numerous times. Most of the folks here are great people and good assets to the Corvette community. Thanks to GM, Corvette and Corvette Forum for a wonderful year.
Mine just turned 78,000 the other day; it made road trips to Bowling Green, KY and California this year; to date, it's travelled through 37 states. In my case, I'll never sell or trade it. I tend to keep the cars I buy.
Congrats to you. BTW, I agree with you with regard to the navigation, but I use maps on my iphone which is 100 times better anyway. So is itunes which plays through the Bose system.
They are fantastic cars and just don't get enough credit for being mostly bulletproof. I dabble in German cars also and it is ridiculous. Always something to do and always expensive. These cars are a cheap keep and reliable. You should see the stupid crap my buddies deal with w/ Ferrari's lambos and porsche. They can never just jump in their car like I do, and none the less use it as a DD could never happen. All they can say is your seats and interior suck! I could care less i have no stress, these thing go forever and cheap to keep.
116,000+ miles on my 07 and I still feel the same way. Chevy makes cars for people to drive everyday, and while is nice to keep it in the garage not run up the miles, The cars were built for driving enjoyment and given the ability to do so daily !!!
This is an AWESOME post to read. It pains me to see people who have had their high end vettes for 5+ years and have like 6k on the odometer. Don't worry about the miles, the enjoyment you are getting out of the car is worth much more than the extra $$ you could sell it for if it just sat in your garage. While a ZR1 is out of my price range, when I bought my C6, I said this is my dream car, I'm going to drive it as much as I can, and I don't care if when it comes time to sell it, I get $5 for it.
And as for the not-so-good navi/entertainment, you could always get one of the nice kenwood systems installed and remedy that
The joys/mile > depreciation/mile. If I had a Z I'd drive it all day everyday just like I do with my base 05. Bought mine with 8700 mile 02/13 and I already have 23k on it. Drive it BC you don't know what tommorow brings

Great post.. drive mine as much as I can (for a non-DD)... track it, cruise it, drive it like it's stolen!... enjoy the car and don't worry about the depreciation... when you're done, you'll move on (to a C7??)... just enjoy!! Life's too short.
