Melting Slicks
Do about 2000-2500 miles / year.
I change it in Nov or Dec before winter put-away.
With a set of home made 2x12 ramps (kinda heavy) it takes very little time, and I know it's done right.

Burning Brakes
Oil change analysis have proven that new oil throws higher wear metals before settling down for the long drain interval.
So, the 2000 mile OCI is wasting money, time, and leaching more metals from the engine.

I know the OP was not asking about oil filters, but while investigating what type of filter to use I came across this CF thread. Most have probably seen it, but for those that have not, it is certainly worth revisiting. I picked up a PF48 at Walmart for less than $4.00.

My oil was changed in December 2011. the car has been driven one time in October 2012 and one time in May 2013. I'm not changing M1 with less than 60 miles on it regardless of the time frame. It's a waste of oil. Everyone has their own opinion. You be the judge.

let me ask you. why are you not driving your car, are you leaving it for next of kin? why bother to have a vette if it just sits in your garage? anyway i'm assuming you have a garage. i don't think it's healthy for a car to just sit around and not be driven. crap man, at least let a family member or neighbor drive it once a week.

let me ask you. why are you not driving your car, (I have others, don't care about driving it) are you leaving it for next of kin? (no, I don't have any next of kin) why bother to have a vette if it just sits in your garage? (because I can and I have more than one) anyway i'm assuming you have a garage. (yes, I have a 900sf garage with 600sf of it with 13' ceilings expressly for lifts) i don't think it's healthy for a car to just sit around and not be driven. (that's your opinion, I have had Corvettes that I did not drive for eight years) crap man, at least let a family member or neighbor drive it once a week. (not a chance):
