I am in the group that votes for taking it to a good dealership. I am in that group because i have a good dealer handy to my house and office.
Really, it is unfair, misleading, and unimaginative to lump all dealers into a common category for this or any other Corvette work. I once had a very bad experience with a dedicated alignment and suspension shop. After that, I could have just lumped all alignment shops into a "bad service" category, but I know that isn't the case.
Good luck to blackgs11, and enjoy your vette; from "bluegs11".

I had a local Chevy dealer do my alignment. They realigned all 4 tires to 0 degrees camber per my request. I don't drive aggressive and do not track the car. The car handles fine and the tires are wearing evenly...saving me $$ on tires. The alignment was $129.99 out the door.
I've been using a small independent shop for almost 20 years. The owner does the alignments and his mechanic does brake jobs and replaces worn parts. I took him the Pfadt specs, there was some numbers he did not agree with. I took my Vette to him right after I bought it and all 4 wheels were off. And my servicing dealer said that they were OK with me taking it back to him after they replaced my oil pan gasket. He charges $72 I think.

Bill Black in Greensboro has a great alignment shop and techs.
I wouldn't take any car to my local Firestone dealer. They wouldn't even cover the failure of my wife's Bridgestone on her Yukon because "she drove it without air". Of course she drove it without air since it BLEW OUT right at the seam. Michelin quickly got my business.
My local dealer, John Watson Chevrolet, charges me about $80 for an alignment and they align it to dead center of GM's GS specs. My 13GS handles fantastic with no abnormal wear on the Michelins that have 15k miles on them with 7/32ds of tread left over.
