Sounds like the base car to me...

Seriously, look at the side cove on the front fender, then compare the car you are looking at to pictures of the "base" Corvette, Grand Sport, Z06, and finally ZR1 (though I think you would know it if you were looking at either of the last two cars). The cove vents and/or emblems are different on each model..

Hope that helps...

Yeah, a base Corvette is just a Corvette. I like mine, but I am happy just driving a quick, fast, good cornering and braking American Icon sports car. I like LOUD rock 'n roll too so the sound system sounds good to me.

As an owner of a 2011 coupe, it was available in four major trim versions, 1LT through 4LT. 1LT was the most basic model. You can tell a 2LT from a 1LT by the addition of perforated sports seats. The 3LT will have HUD. 4LT adds leather interior.

The OEM wheels are the ones shown on my avatar.

yes,, i know the diff, between th GS,Z and ZR1. but i just thought the base car should have a few more things in it,like power seats and maybe memory setttings, it may as well have roll up windows also.
thanks for you input.

thank you

The windows don't move at all in a base, they are "fixed". Also, with a base, you have a bow tie emblem on the steering wheel that cannot be removed. Here at CF, you cannot become a FULL member and are on perpetual probation status.

ps And you've been a member here for 5 years?

I have the 1LT. Of course I knew what I was buying at the time. Saved some coin and it is just as fast and actually weighs less, so maybe a hair faster. I set up the suspension the way I wanted it, the exhaust, intake, etc. The interior is fine for me; it has all the gauges that are necessary and the "radio" sounds as good as the Bose, IMO. The Bose is a waste of money BTW. It's got satellite radio and the OnStar. All is good for me. I wasn't out to buy a luxury car.

You might want to consider getting another C5 then if you are dead set on having another "base"

The "BASE" vette is also the lightest vette which in turn makes it faster or have a higher top end I should say......You can add HUD if you want that and you can add heated seats for about 200 a seat at pretty much any electronics shop that does stereos and stuff like that.

I didn't say I wanted a base, I was curios as what featires where on a base car. I thought maybe I was missing something. my c5 had power seats with the seatback powered also, which is not available in a c6. actually was 1sb, which is same as 1lt.

Long term you will really enjoy the conveniences of the 3LT--dual power heated sport seats, heads up display, memory settings for 2 drivers, the better sound of the speed sensitive Bose system... lots of bells and whistles. Makes touring a joy. You really should take a tour of a Vette with 3LT before deciding. The younger guys are into black wheels, but the optional chrome wheels look fantastic on black car IMHO. Just be aware that black isn't a color--it's a career (Don't ask me how I know)!

I'm in agreement with that, but would just like to continue on it. If its going to be your weekend toy, track car, or whatever then the 1LT is fine. If its going to be your daily driver or close to it then I would definitely go for the 3LT package. I just got mine this year and took my first road trip in it (we went from NJ to Virginia so nothing too long) and the comfort of the seats, and the heated seats in the evening with the top off... its just awesome. And I thought the HUD was a silly thing to have, but now I love it and pretty much never look at the gauges while driving, very cool.

and for the record I'm a younger guy with a black vette and chrome rims, no "murdered out" look for me.. but yeah definitely a "career", car shows everything, but its worth the work IMO, just looks much meaner and angrier than the other colors

As far as the options listed here, let's be honest:
- Heated seats: most Corvettes are spring, summer and fall cars
- Memory Seats: no one drive my Vette except me.
- Power Passenger Seat: Let's face it, all the way down and all the way back will be fine for every person that sits in the passenger seat. Besides, when you are driving, why do you care if your passenger has to adjust their seat?
- Bose/Speed comp Volume: at least on my 2LT non-Bose car you still get speed comp volume. Off, low, medium and high control how much comp you get.

Ultimately the only upgrade I think is actually worth anything in the 3LT cars in 2011 is the HUD. Everything else I could live without, and I do. Now on a 2LT you did pick up Bluetooth for your phone which was kind of a deal sealer for me, plus power sport seats, and the cargo net and cargo cover (can be bought cheaply aftermarket). Now a 4LT, maybe I'd spring for that with the leather dash, but after seeing some of them shrink up over time, again I think i'm happy with my decision. If you are buying the 1LT as a toy and a true sports car: go for it. If daily or looking for a more GT feel: hold out for at least a 2LT.

Bought a '13 base 1LT and am very happy with what you get as standard. We also have a Tahoe LTZ with all the options and really don't miss them when getting into the Vette.

The one thing I added to the vette after delivery was the transparent roof which changes the whole feel of the car when installed. Its the first thing you notice when getting in. To me its a great value and worth the cost, especially in the northeast with cold winters.

i have to agree with you, power passenger seat ? i m not sitting in it, HUD ? could not care one way or other, something else to go wrong, i would like the sport seats tho, nav ? is out to lunch on the current models, better off aftermarket, i have one in my V, and it sucks,so not necessary, just like some of the bells n whistles, will only be a sunny day car anyway, thats why i think i would be making a mistake on the base, am thinking 2lt, 3lt if the price is right on the right vehicle.

thanks for all the input folks.

i have a nice V for you if interested.

if your happy thats all that matters. i have the 2lt, was thinking of trading up for the gs. then thinking about it i figure i'm as happy with my 013 as i would be with a gs. and if i do trade up, it'll be for a 015 BASE 2lt z51, no gs.
