My 2005 was pretty much worry free in the 8 years I had it. It did have a bad case of DBS so it pretty much needed to be on a battery tender if I didn’t drive it for more than 5 – 6 days. There were a couple of recalls (like the roof) but for the most part, no problems.
I have a 2008 and have not heard of too many issues. Any car can have problems, but what you want to avoid is a model year that has an above normal number of issues.
I have a new (to me) C6 2008 with 17K on the clock and the only issue was the creaking glass top that was fixed by adding E-clips to the latched and shrink wrapping front post. Creaking is no longer an issue. I am very pleased with car and it better than my previous C3, C4 or C5 Corvettes.

can you elaborate more on how you fixed this issue as i have the same symptoms.

Sometimes a picture is better than words
All three helped but the best was the addition of the E-clip. Just pick up two E-Clips at Home Deport and insert one on each latch as shown by the roller. Lube everything and you will be good to go. Note I put new O-Rings on top of the head shrink. This keeps the heat shrink from coming off when you remove the top. I have removed mine several times and this fix works.
The fix is for any old style top latch. GM changed the design in mid 2008 to ditch the roller.
