Not trying to start anything with you but just because you cant see it doesnt mean its not there. Just like your perfect panel alignment, none are perfect.
I learned a long time ago because I was guilty of it as well that there are no perfect cars, there are always flaws but we see a car as an entire piece and not each small section. If you go over your car top to bottom, front to back, and look at every inch of it.....you will find some flaws from the factory.
You dont get a robot painted body panel that was made by a machine and then put on by hand to fit 100% correct without any paint issues. It just doesnt happen.
There is only one way to get rid of orange peel and your car has not had it done to it. I am glad you like your car and that you think its perfect.
Does this make sense???? I have seen posted on another brand forum that when a car is in the last model year that manufactures tend to use spare, crappy, whatever type parts and quality deteriorates as the last of the cars are built. Trying to keep the parts bin low.
Then I ran into a car engineer (aftermarket parts) who attends many Corvette events and he says there have been lot of quality control issues on the 13 C6.
Myself my 13 GS with 7400 miles dropped a piston and now has a new engine in it. Pretty crazy.
They started assembling some LS3's in Mexico and It will state that on the Window Sticker. Do you know where your old and new engines was assembled?
It would already be blown to crap if the grandma's in the Bowling employee photos got their hands on it. They did a number attempting to assemble the rest of the car. The multi color brake calipers were a nice touch.
My 13 C6 coupe has been problem free, after the alignment got straightened out. Mine was a early run vin ends in 327, June 2012.
The last year of a model run is usually the best year produced. The plant has gotten all the problems resolved. 2005-2013 is 9 model years of production.
no problems but the posted speed limit...13Z06 Sept build...she is a keeper until the C7 version of it arrives......OP explain the "dropped piston" when you get a minute...Thanks

In 1969 my copo L-72 was assembled by someone who did not know what they were doing unless it was intentional they overlaped expanders and mashed the oil rings together on two cyls. No tention to wipe oil from the walls. Result was quart every 100 miles and foul the respective plugs in 1800 miles. We wont go to dealers repair solution and what they did, thats another story. So my feeling is you change labor force and you repeat problems some old some new! I'm sure they moved assembly to make room for the new LT-1

Your ugly colored brake caliper that worked correctly but was the wrong color? Or was it the sun faded trim on the door that well.....sund fades in a week anyway?
What's worrisome is the thread regarding the steering gear
failures being reported (the entire unit needs to be replaced
and there is no fix other than repetitive swaps for the same
failure if it reoccurs).
(steering gear = GM term = steering rack is the common term).
Anything is possible, but I really doubt it. I can't believe that a car company would knowingly produce a questionable product. They would risk a lot of $$ in warranty claims, poor reviews etc.

I agree they would not, but the Union workers who's about to go on strike or the replacement worker that does not know any better or the new labor force in where ever the job goes can cause headachs. And speaking of that now there is supplier issues when they don't deliver a quality item as promised. The more you contract out the less control of your business you have!
I already posted about the issues with my 427. I did buy a C4 when they were first released and that was a disaster, I assumed the last of the C6 would be different. So far, not so much.
By comparison, I bought one of the last BMW E46 M3s that I owned for a couple years until the new E92 M3 came out and then I traded it in for that. I had ZERO issues with both cars. Make of it what you will.
