hey guys, im wondering, was there the same amount of sensitivity/ harshness towards the C6 from the C5 guys when it first came out in 05? im not remembering it that way. over in the C7 section it seems to be a lot of it going on. sure I understand guys messing around, breaking chops its all good. What really stands out is the sensitivity from the C7 owners, most of which I think are forum/C7 newbies , I think they are far worse than the guys braking *****. geez!! what do you think? toughen up?? LOL LOL

Just from memory, it seems like there are more problems and dis-satisfied customers in the first few months of the C7, than there were in the same time frame of the C6.

I think the C7 fanboys are more sensitive than the early C6 fanboys, because the criticism of the C7 is more intense.

Well I cannot answer that question as I was not here when the C6 was first introduced, but I will admit that many on the C7 forum are listed as junior members, which to me would indicate that they are first time buyers, which is a good thing (maybe) for GM and I believe a lot are in the younger generation as in late 30's early 40's, which again is what GM was looking for.

As far as the discontent I have seem a lot in the C7 section and it seems to be the ones that are buying a C7 or have already purchased one they seem to be set that they will not allow any one to say anything that can be taken as a negative comment. I have even see C7 owners that happen to complain bay issue with the new C7 get slammed for complaining.

The C6 got plenty of criticism when it was introduced. No let up on the exposed headlights and how bad they looked, etc.

There does seem to be a lot of complete intolerance and over-sensitivity over on the C7 forum regarding ANY thing perceived as negative. As soon as anyone posts a comment that is perceived as negative, they go into "defense" mode. I don't understand it...its a car. If someone doesn't like my C6, hey, so what. I didn't buy it to impress anyone. I like it, and I bought it for me. A lot of those folks over there need to grow up and behave as adults, not like little kids fighting on the playground.

I'm surprised that a dealer in NJ is offering 2k discounts already (way to go). Mine wants 5k more for a Premier Edition!

I think it's driven by the speed of information flow....

When the C5 came out, everyone bitched about the lack of power and the big butt, etc. With the web in its infancy, this was done via email list servers and dial-up....ie it took too long to complain or refute, so there wasn't a lot of back and forth

When the C6 came out it was called the C5.5 Not enough change, the butt was still too big, it has <gasp> fixed headlights, etc. The web was more mature so there were more debates. Early adopters were certainly sensitive.

With the C7 and broadband internet (not to mention smart phones), it's just way too easy to go postal over critiques and fan the flames.

You have to figure these guys are trying to justify their purchase while they are beta testing GM's new flagship.

If you read all the posts on the C6 forum, you will find many of the same type of disgruntled a-holes trying to justify their purchase.
There are bitter people buried in every forum about every topic on the internet...

The only exception I have found is the Christmas Light forum.
All of those guys are pretty happy and easy going people.
It is refreshing to help out people there and know you are not going to get flamed because you decided to buy a Base over a Z06.

I believe it was a far greater engineering leap from the C6 to the C7 than from the C5 to C6....more potential for gremlins and bugs.........
