The waffle design seems to be the most absorbent. The towels I ordered are just microfiber but very thick.

I use this too, I used to dry my 01 M.Y vette with towels worked fine. I did the same with my magnetic red for 1/4 dry and noticed hairline scratches, towels no more. I bought the absorber and NO hairline scratches. Good product.

I've had a synthetic chamois for probably 20 years, not sure of the brand but purchased at Wal-Mart, and it shows no wear at all. What's more it absorbs very well and I can't imagine a product that would work better. All you need to do is wring it out a few times during the process. What I don't understand is how it can remain wet in the sealed plastic container, which is recommended storage, for long periods without mildewing or emitting any odors. I usually use a squeegee the painted areas and use compressed air for the chrome wheels and tail-light recesses to get the majority of the water off first, then finish it up with the chamois.

The cheap towels bought in bulk, along with any cotton towels ARE leaving swirls in the paint.

They were very absorbent and worked well but after I was done I looked at them and there were pulls everywhere. I didn't even use them on my rims. For those I used a cheap Walmart microfiber. I had my wife wash them both and with out saying anything she commented on how the towels were falling apart. I was wondering if anyone can suggest a towel that will holdup and is absorbent. Links are appreciated.

Good quality MF towels are not cheap. They also need to be treated separate and slightly different from other laundry and towels. They can lint and snag on trim and other items so handle with care. Each design is different and meant for different areas. (not all towels are created equal).

OK - so I picked up 2 Adams waffle drying towels today and no rain tonight, so I washed the vette and tryed em out - Holy Hell they are freakin awesome!!!! I rarely, if ever, endorse a product, but the Adams drying towels are great - absolutely the single best car care product I've ever bought. Never thought I would be so excited about a drying towel, but it cut the time to dry in half - maybe more. One time across with the wet towel, followed by a second swipe with the dry towel and that was it. I've always worried about using old bath towels - several times back and forth to get it completely dry. Can't wait to try it on the Tahoe this weekend to see how much time it saves me on that beast!!!

These are the nicest towels I've ever found. The first one I had ever seen was in a clay bar kit... I looked on their web page and you can buy just the towels - three for $10. They go through the wash well.
