I just bought a GS 2012 steering wheel and it is for a manual car. I have an A6 w/paddle shift. I am in need of a picture of the back side of you wheel. I need to know what I need to modify to make this work on my car. Thanx for any help.
can anybody get me a shot with their cell phone of the back side that has paddle shift before I tear up this new steering wheel? lol. It looks like I should be able to just cut holes to mount the switches in the leather. My OEM wheel has a big plastic piece on the back where as the new one is just leather running around the back.
Where did you buy the steering wheel from?
It would probably be best to return (or sell) the manual transmission steering wheel and buy one for an automatic car that already has the paddle shifters.

195 views and no one has one? Did they not sell A6 paddle shifts in 2012 or 2013? I'm going to the local chevy dealer tomorrow to see if they have one.
For those who helped me thru all this %#@!*&&...Thank You.
The job is complete, it took me about 4 hours of steady work. I had to dremel out the holes for the paddle shift levers...ouch......then on these steering wheels the back cover does not come off or at least I was not going to force it and break it. My old wheel the back cover fell off as soon as I removed the 2 screws. Since I could not remove the back cover it was real tough trying to route the wires thru the wheel. I wound up partially breaking a piece of the back cover by one of the screws so I get the harness in the correct place. It really does not matter because it is inside and you will never see it again. But... the new wheel looks real nice. I used my old harness because the new one had no paddles. I had to replace the end connector for the radio controls because it was different. Everything works as it should and now I have 2 wires for the BT button inside taped up for when I figure out what the hell I can do with button. Too bad it's not a simple on/off, I would hook it to my m2w. If you ask why would you do this.... well I wanted to see if it could be done successfully and I paid $100 for the wheel and by the time I get done selling the old parts it will have cost me nothing but some labor, and I like doing things like this.
