I like this thread since I have an '08. I've noticed a slightly rough idle as well, but not rough enough to be concerned. Now I know enough to not be concerned at all.
The LS2 uses pretty much the 2001 ZO6 cam (385 hp), the LS3 uses the intake lift of the LS6 and the exhaust list of the LS2. They are not exact but close enough.
The LS6 cam is not radical in the least bit and the LS3 does not use the LS6 cam.
My bad I looked at it too quick, but was not far off. The LS3 is a combo of the 01 and 02 Z06 camshaft. But with a 120 CL. which will smooth the idle out. And this is a lot more lift compared to the LS1
cams.

You got it, brother.
The largest LS1 lift was what, the 99/2000 year with something like .497? Even then though the .52X is pretty tame.
The LS3 idles funny because the idle speed is lower.
You will get a kick out of this. My dad and his friends looked at my 2012 when I first got it and said "Not much of a cam huh?" so I showed them the specs. The stock cam is a big cam compared to years prior and they didnt believe me that it was that large of a cam. By todays standards its pretty tame.
Took car to the dealer..under warranty. They scoped it, checked for misfires(none). Said everything is good. Between the cam and the computer, engine idle is good.
My 2008 manual idles at 650 rpm when warm. The idle will vary slightly + or - 25 rpm, but mostly at 650. I would data log the fuel trims to see if they are adjusting erratically. If erratic + fuel trims are present, they could be adjusting for a vacuum leak. The ECM will also adjust the timing to maintain idle, check for timing variance.
Incorrect spark plug gap or a bad wire can cause rough idle.

Prior use. The only thing I have had any sort of luck with is to use (and have to use it multiple times in a row) is something like the Lucas Fuel System Treatment but that was because the car sat with the same gas in it for almost a year and it was worth a shot vs. dropping the tank. lol I saw MPG's raise up and the car run smoother but I used to for 4 fill ups in a row.
Most of the stuff is repackaged gas with "additives". If its that bad I would opt just to change the filter and clean the injectors.
