Have a C6 o5 Automatic I noticed that it doesn't go over 2000 rpms is this normal , it has power took it up to 120 mph but it just seems weird , I don't not have it in competition mode any ideas , it shifts fine will I think it does as it feels like its stuck in one gear and doesn't downshift at all

Reason: speeling
Gonna need some more facts. Starting from a standstill accelerating up to speed, what exactly does it do? What does it do under hard throttle from a roll?
Yes, this post is puzzling, even if it was stuck in 4th, it would definitely get (a smidge) over 2000 rpms at freeway speeds. Anything over 80 would be considerably higher.
If you don't shift "manually" it will still go from 1-2-3-4 in D. And when you decelerate, it won't noticeably "downshift" when in D. When you come to a stop (or near) it should engage a lower gear to accelerate.
Did you ever get this resolved? My vette does the same thing. It feels like it starts in 3rd or 4th. It wont downshift or start in 1st even if I put the shifter in first.

The band might be broken.....or a leak in the servo....
Just happened to my tahoe.
Or a shift solenoid....
Checking the condition and level of the fluid would be first.... Then check codes.....
Call me if you're stuck.
A4 is a great trans in 2005.... Round here, We make em SING!

I have to ask since I repeatedly hear negatives about the 05 auto trans and rear diff. What do you like about the A4 since that is what I own. I am glad to hear something positive about them for a change!

The A4 is fine. The diff is the issue if you race And have a manual trans. Wheel Hop is the culprit.

The A4 is a great trans if you tune it right. You would never know it from the way it performs stock,
but a good Chuck CoW TUNE wakes em up night and day.

I concur..
the wife loves the way the trans is shifting in her 05 now
certainly made an improvement
still have more datalogs to make, but certainly much more improved

Cool thing is.....The A4 tune is great, but when you add CoW BOOSTER! is also makes very
positive improvements to the way the trans behaves (without further trans tuning) because the
A4 and A6 transmissions shift behavior is modified by how much the driver presses on the throttle.....
Pressing the throttle MORE tells the trans you expect more... Funny thing is that the CoW BOOSTER!
gives you soooo much more when you press much less that it actually has a favorable effect on how and
when the transmission shifts.... Extra bonuses for FREE!
