There was a recent question about this, one reply said that the noise cancellation technology does not work well in the large interior of the C6, it works best in the small space inside a set of headphones.
No personal experience there...

I spent some time checking out car interior noise cancellation about a 1 or so ago. Found nothing viable, meaning small system, for a vehicle at that time. I spent a good number of hours researching.
I did find a headrest and surroundings that had an incorporated noise cancellation system, from Europe, but it was not in production at the time.
Imagine a set of Bose noise cancellation headphones large scale, for the entire car, largely for lower frequency noise. I think that would work ok, but you'd have a problem integrating into the cars 'sound' as it would likely also cancel out music frequencies as well, unless it had an intelligent interface knowing music playing from background noise.
Someone might be able to use a Bose headset microphone/noise cancellation system, and figure how to output it to an amp and speaker setup in the car. Bose is pretty limited in the frequencies it seems to block out.
I ought to try my set in the car and see how it cancels out the road noise.

Another major hurdle is capturing the noise you want to cancel and differentiating it from the 'good' sound coming from the speakers.
With headphones, the speakers are inside and the mics are on the outside. You can't really achieve this in a car interior where all 3 major components share the same space, speakers, mics, and your ears.

Exactly.
Since my initial search sometime back a number of companies are/have been developing ANC, QNX, Bose and Silentium, to list the main ones. I'd suspect it won't be long before there are methods to take those and adapt or an aftermarket setup is avail.
