C6 project car
I considered a c7, but spending $50,000+ and then adding on mods just doesn't make much sense. I think a c6 is the best car for the job. I'm looking to get a minimum of 800 horsepower, no more than 900 though. Some of you may recognize me from Camaro5 or L4P constantly making threads about what car I'm going to be getting next. I buy/sell a lot, but if you remember my Camaro you know I dont mess around.
What I'm here to ask is.. Is there a specific year that would be best to get if I wanted to build up the engine? I dont want to swap the engine, I know a lot of Camaro guys swapped in the LSX 454. Is that a viable option on the C6? Would it be better to supercharge, stroke, etc, or just swap to a LSX 454 and go from there? I dont want to be cheap or cut corners, but I want to be as efficient as possible. I'm very familiar with the LS3 and I know it's capable of pretty high numbers. I should mention a big thing with this is all the work except professional tuning will be done by me, I dont want to just send it off to LMR for the end result, I'm more in it for the process.
I'm looking at a few corvettes now that are local to me, all are about $29-32k. I dont care about the options on the car or how many miles since I'll be doing so much to it, but is there anything specific for these cars that I should look out for? Maybe one year is better than the other for this sort of application, or maybe If one has X amount of miles Y is probably going to fail soon?

question would be what do you plan on doing with it?
Dont need that much for road course/autocross which is what the car is designed for...
If your gonna beat it down a drag strip with any sticky tire on it then you should look at driveline upgrades and so on...
Maybe alot of bench racing at the local donut shop and a big burnout on the way out?
